Hi TR,
I agree with you, 80 mtrs would be better for the practice sessions.
The reason we were using 40 meters for starters was one of the guys can
not get on 80 meters yet (as I understand it) I would like to use 80
meters. It is sure a nice quiet band. Last night 40m band condx.
improved and there was quite a bit of QRM around 7.045- a few QRPers and
others taking advantage of the improved conditions.
I understand a big class X solar flair is due this evening so don't know
what the band will be like or if we will have a band.
I think the first guy that gets on 7.045 should start calling for K6BW
and not wait around for anybody. In the past, I start calling 5 minutes
early as a place holder.
Of course we can all agree to go up higher on 40 mtrs. --say 7.065 If
we need to.
or use that freq. as an alternate if 7.045 is too crowded.
What does every one else think?
