[K6BW] Hamilton - MARS Nets?

Hi, Robert
So true. There is no 6 meter MARS activity I know of. There was a
six-meter link from Diablo to the southern part of the Sacramento Valley but
I believe it is currently inactive (turned off). There is interest on part
of OJC to explore restoring it, but it takes a trip down there to even find
where the receiver is located.
There is a flagging 2-meter net at 8:00pm local Thursdays and Fridays, I
believe. I think AEX and IDW were attempting to establish same, but don't
know if they have continued the activity. It is a relatively recent net
which is why you don't see it listed anywhere.
All this is personal observation, you are better off contacting OJC for the
official word. He can be reached directly at [email protected].
By the way, this e-mail reflector, and the web site for that matter is for
the Hamilton Wireless Association (the Amateur Radio part of Hamilton). But
Chuck will see these messages, as he is a member of the club.

Bill,
Good Evening....
I do not see 6 Meters or 2 Meter MARS Nets listed on the
Navy-MarinesMars or Region 9 web site for the Hamilton Repeaters.
What MARS freqs (Offsets and PL Tones ) are used by MARS
for 6 Meters?
And, what are the NET designator(s), days and times?
Thank you. 73's....

Hi,
Hope you are all having a great holiday. The clubhouse is open, we'll be
working on a 6Mhz antenna for a MARS node today, Monday. Peter, KG6MZV is
planning to come up around noon with a sample of a variable capacitor that
we might use in a rock-mite antenna tuner project. Harold, AE6C was up
there yesterday working on a portable beam antenna, and Jack, WA6JYU and I
were testing 450 MHz rigs on Saturday for a remote base application as well
as putting up the dipole.
If you get a chance, why not drop by? A Azden 2m transceiver is to be
donated my a MARS member so we'll be able to monitor the repeater at the
clubhouse. 100' of new coax is on its way from another of the MARS members.
:-)
