All,
For any interested, I just received this from Andy Protigal, President of
the CARA club. It presents another opportunity to support the community
and learn how to do these things.
I encourage you to volunteer and if I'm town I intend to help.
Please feel free to respond directly to Andy.
73,
Pete

Subject: CARA - New Public Service Event - Patapsco Valley 50K Ultramarathon
To:
All -
The organizers of the Patapsco Trail Fest running event have asked that we
support another one of their Patapsco events - the Patapsco Valley 50K on
Saturday October 28th. This event is very similar to the MD HEAT event and
the course follows many of the same trails in the Avalon, Orange Grove and
Hilton areas. Given your past support to the Patapsco events we have
supported, I thought I would reach out to you directly to see if you would
be interested in supporting this event.
Some details as follows:
- Refer to the following link for additional event information -
https://whiteoakrunning.com/events/patapsco-50k/.
- Start/Finish will be at Pavilion 105 in the Avalon area - same as for the
MD HEAT
- Four Aid Stations will be set up - one is the same location as Aid
Station 3 for the MD HEAT, one will be at the Start / Finish and the others
will be at vehicle accessible locations along the perimeter of the park.
- Though our focus will be manning the Aid Stations, there are many
opportunities to operate on the trail - to include some of the locations we
have placed folks for the MD HEAT, and other new locations.
- Anticipate 300 participants
- Event will run 07:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., and I believe there are cut off
times (given day light conditions)
I will add that we were asked to support this event given how we have
supported the Patapsco Trail Fest events of the past two years. So, I
think we should all be very happy about that recognition.
Refer to the following link if you are interested in supporting this event.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Andy
