Hi Curt and all,

Good points made, thank you.

The core satellite station set up and ops will be
a two-person team, and I found my assistant
just recently! Once we complete the very long
set up and get acclamated to all the new gear
(and we make a contact or two) then we will
open the station wide for satellite ops training,
including one "formal session" for FD bonus
points, if desired.

My assistant is a young ham who is an intern
of mine at work. Matt Davis, KB3TVB, lives in
Ellicott City and just graduated from McDonough
(High) School in Owings Mills, Md. (the same HS
as our CCARC wonder boy, Andy Leeds, WO3L)!
See https://www.mcdonogh.org/

I'm looking forward to introducing Matt to
everyone. He has his General Class ticket,
and is working on his Extra. This fall he is
heading to USC in Los Angeles to study
a hybrid curriculum of Computer Science/
Computer Engineering/Electrical Engineering.

Maybe he will also help keep our logging
Network running throughout the FD
weekend!?!!

STATION CONFIGURATION
Whoa. Let's just say we will achieve total
automation shortly after FD if not during.
At least as far as antenna pointing control
and Doppler tracking/corrections on the fly.
This station is a part of a CubeSat portable
ground station for training NASA interns
and others.
