[K3PZN-List] Two monobanders on the same tower

Joe-

Were you attempting to feed both antennas with one feed line that required
the use of matching stubs? I intend to run separate feedlines and am
wondering if the close spacing of the antennas will affect the VSWR.

May have to wake up my computer with the NEC modeling software.

Years ago ( Back in the Seventies) We set up a 10 over 15 meter pair of
three element antennas. I do remember some separation issues associated
with the lash-up. If memory serves me correctly, I think we settled out
with a bit over ten (10) feet of separation as the magic number. Did this
down at my father-in-law's house on Rehobeth Bay and it did work well
finally. Took us about three months to get it right but it put out a really
decent signal. We finally settled on a single three element Yagi on 20, 15
and 10 meters for simplicity. After a couple of cable harness issues and
some matching stubs we got it right on the single element antennas. They
will work....just hafta have a bit of patience. Regards, Joe -- K3FPE

If I mounted two monoband yagis on the same mast separated by about 4 feet,
will one affect the pattern of the other and will there be other
interactions? I’m thinking of putting two 3-element Hy-Gain Long Johns,
one 15 meter and one 10 meter, on the same mast. And then later, as we near
the solar minimum, switching out the 10 meter and installing a 20 meter Long
John.

Just thinking. I still have Willie Mike’s A4S to refurbish. Or, maybe pick
up a Moseley TA-63-N that covers 20 thru 6..
