Two simultaneous rigs -- yes you should have learned from my mistake in where I located the 2 rocket launchers at Field Day!  Even with opposite polarizations, better to separate the antennas - especially if you operate on the same band.  However, we did do just fine putting a dipole under a beam at FD for operation on different bands -- to save a need for a mast -- but it helped to use 'high performing rigs' and also a pair of RF filters in front of the rigs (actually one was found not to be needed).

Ray,

I'm not clear on what you're asking. The cookie tin antenna is for VHF & UHF not 20 or 40 meters.  How does one "put up a vertical ...using CW"? CW is an operating mode NOT a way to put up an antenna.

hi All

ok question   if I work 20m ssb on a diapole can I put up a vertical that is very close using CW and what band could I use?   There seems to be a problem of using 20m ssb and 40m cw when I try it.  This using 100w on diapole and qrp on the vertical which can do anyband.  Any suggestions from the group?

I read this with delight as I have used this kind of antenna to get into 145.410- from my shack in the basement so this antenna was about a foot off the outside ground while on the top shelf mag-mount 440/2m antenna on a cookie tin ~ 7-8" diameter.
