Ray,

I'm not clear on what you're asking. The cookie tin antenna is for VHF & UHF not 20 or 40 meters.  How does one "put up a vertical ...using CW"? CW is an operating mode NOT a way to put up an antenna.

hi All

ok question   if I work 20m ssb on a diapole can I put up a vertical that is very close using CW and what band could I use?   There seems to be a problem of using 20m ssb and 40m cw when I try it.  This using 100w on diapole and qrp on the vertical which can do anyband.  Any suggestions from the group?

I read this with delight as I have used this kind of antenna to get into 145.410- from my shack in the basement so this antenna was about a foot off the outside ground while on the top shelf mag-mount 440/2m antenna on a cookie tin ~ 7-8" diameter.
