FYI - a web conference that might be of general interest. You might remember George from his presentation on the SDR-Cube at a past club meeting. He and a partner 'air' a weekly discussion on the web -- note you must pre-install a little software, and plug in your headset to participate (also some join the discussion also by typing). Also, the 'lecture material' is posted in advance.
FYI - for those who melt a little solder (or not in this case as it involves writing/applying some code).

Subject: [QRP-L] Episode 47 of CWTD: Arduino Design Tactics ... tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 8pm Eastern (0100z)
Episode #47 of Chat With The Designers airs tomorrow night, Tuesday, on
Teamspeak at 8pm Eastern, 0100z.
The topic this week is "Arduino Design Tactics" . Okay, who hasn't heard of
the Arduino in the last couple of years? It's been pretty hard to avoid.
But have you given it a try yet for a project on the bench? Perhaps a VFO
controller, or maybe a dedicated voltmeter, antenna rotor controller, code
practice oscillator . the list goes on! The Arduino is designed for use by
non-techie users: artists to add lights and sound to their works, musicians
to add new dimensions to their instruments, hobbyists building robots and
R/C vehicles, homeowners to make custom home automation, and tinkerers to
make unique alarm systems. The functional modules are simple to use and
require only basic electronic and software skills. We'll be overviewing the
different types of Arduinos, the interfaces and the various canned software
modules available for it.
Our whiteboard material will be accessible during the day tomorrow for
preview and of course for use during the show. Check the top of the CWTD
home page for the link to the session's whiteboard .
