Very cool - neat to have a journalist amongst us. Actually, these days it is hard to find a TV antenna - and I am told that on-air signals provide more HDTV resolution than those over cable (??). If it works in Mount Airy I can imagine its a fine antenna.
PS - Matt a younger member of our club also does some nice homebrew antenna work (and he was one of the stars at the hamfest doing the early shift at the gate).

My next TV antenna article
Will be coming out in Popular Communications, January 2013 under the "Wireless Connection" Column heading as the normal author of that column is taking the month off and Richard decided that way the article will "have room for proper presentation."
This antenna is a quad-element turnstile-bowtie UHF TV antenna with 360 degree horizontally polarized reception.
The article is a "How To Build" article using coat hangers for the elements and PVC for the element mount. Total cost of parts was less than $10.
I'll keep you informed if anything changes but at this point I don't expect any more changes.
