Correct way is to set the radio for full power, usually 100 watts output on
SSB.  For digital operation use the windows control for the sound card to
adjust the amount of drive usually no more than 20 watts.  This is the tried
and proven way.  Many problems including damage radios and splattering all
over the band by those who attempt to set the digital output by moving the
transmitter drive control.
