[K3PZN-List] Was Your First Transmitter Homebrew?

I was introduced to ham radio in 1961 and built a cw transmitter using  
a kit from Allied electronics.  I used to dream over the radio's in  
the Layette catalogue.  In 1963 I would talk on my uncle's drake tr7.   
Life got in the way of my interests and I did not get back into radio  
until 1993 when in 7 weeks I went from a no-code tech to an extra -  
copying 25 wpm.  I was involved in testing at Laurel, Timonium with  
BRATS, Palmer park with ARRL and Frederick fair grounds with CARA.  I  
have since lost interest in ham radio and have recently picked it up  
again.  I just joined the club about a month ago hoping to get active  
again.  I hope to get to a meeting in the near future and meet some of  
the fine members of this club.  I was a member once before a number of  
years ago.
