I was introduced to ham radio in 1961 and built a cw transmitter using
a kit from Allied electronics. I used to dream over the radio's in
the Layette catalogue. In 1963 I would talk on my uncle's drake tr7.
Life got in the way of my interests and I did not get back into radio
until 1993 when in 7 weeks I went from a no-code tech to an extra -
copying 25 wpm. I was involved in testing at Laurel, Timonium with
BRATS, Palmer park with ARRL and Frederick fair grounds with CARA. I
have since lost interest in ham radio and have recently picked it up
again. I just joined the club about a month ago hoping to get active
again. I hope to get to a meeting in the near future and meet some of
the fine members of this club. I was a member once before a number of
years ago.
