Phil,
Information: I would recommend that you starting reading at
www.aprs.org. Bob Bruninga has a lot of great information for the read on
his page and there has been a lot of additions/recommendations for 2011.
Software: I would start with UI-View. This software has tons of
add-ons, but there really is no currently activity supported APRS software,
but UIVIEW is my favorite. It can be found at : http://www.welcome.to/uiview
I hope that this helps to get you started. Please let me know if I
can help further.

Subject: [K3PZN-List] APRS?
I've got a Garmin Rino 110 + power & data cable, I've got a Kantronics TNC
which can do APRS (TX GPS position?) & a home brew power cable. I've got a
computer running XP.
I need at least one other cable? & software & some idea of what I'm supossed
to be doing with this stuff in order to get it to track ???? where other
people are??, send where I am??? what?
Let's start with, what software should I get for APRS on the XP laptop?
Tnx & 73 de ke3fl
Phil
