Reminder - the ARES-RACES Drill will be held this Tuesday evening starting
at 7:15 PM. All ARES / RACES members should make an extra effort to
participate in this event. We will meet in the parking lot of the Emergency
Operations Center (on Center Street) to get your assignment. The exercise
will last until about 8:30.

As you may have already heard, Jim Weed is the new Emergency Manager here
in Carroll County. He'll be speaking briefly at Monday night's CCARC
meeting. One thing you may hear about Monday night is that the county is
making plans for a new EOC. Jim designed the EOC in Anne Arundel County
while he was the Emergency Manager there. It's a very impressive setup! Jim
will soon be thinking about how much space the ham radio support team will
need at Carroll's new EOC. Let's use the Tuesday drill as an opportunity to
show him how many hams will be coming out to help when Carroll County needs
our assistance.

Tom Jeffers at the Carroll Hospital Center is available this Tuesday
evening, so we'll be including the CHC in our exercise.

Again - we really need everyone to try to make it out for this event, even
if you've never participated in the monthly exercise before. I promise it
won't hurt a bit.
