[K3PZN-List] FB?

QSL - except in this case I am showing my age.  FB is one of those ham radio terms, kinda like hearing destinated on 2m FM.  or not so good, my daughter (think languages major) has caught me saying 'we' from my car when I don't have passengers - yes that is bad.  maybe FB's only virtue is its nice rhythm on CW.  yes it definitely takes up space at 10-20 WPM, but it lets the operator pause as is saying (or thinking for this ex-Toastmaster, I hope) uhhh.

I got re-addicted back into ham radio by a co-worker who took his HT on a business trip, and I think he began each transmission with fine business .... which on phone to me is more annoying than CW.

Yes I see you do CW !  At least in email that is - FB.  I haven't met a mode I didn't like some, but I guess CW is different than 'work' so I do it more than other modes!

What's new in my shack?  Well a little 80m QRP transceiver called the Fort Tuthill that is in vogue.  It's development was sponsored by a bay-area guy KI6DS but it's parts go into a bag and envelope from AZ.  It was an interesting build, and nice for a little conversational CW (but I confess I generally have more spare time for DX).

Thanks for livening up our List with your observation.  It will be good to have another 'foreign number' op in the area.

73 Curt

FB = fine business. I'm not sure what the origins of it are, but it seems
to be universal. Some typical uses are:

"That K8DID is a FB operator."

"Setting up that dipole on field day was a FB move"

and most usually

TNX 4 FB QSO 73 DE N1DID QRT

There is also the little known Q code QFB, though I have never used it
myself.
