[K3PZN-List] Reminder: CARET Net Tuesday 8:30 PM 145.410 MHz, and MT-63 Practice Session

Hi Folks;

Reminder - the CARET Net will be meeting this Tuesday evening at 8:30  
PM on 145.410 MHz. We're going to also get some MT-63 practice after  
the net concludes, so have your computers ready.

ANNOUNCEMENT: The Maryland-DC Section will be conducting a Digital  
Communications Test on Saturday, April 24. The purpose of this test  
(besides having some fun with the digital modes) is to see if we can  
tie all the local digital nets throughout the Section together so that  
we have effective digital communications at the Section level. Here in  
Carroll County we'll be holding a couple digital nets during the day  
to try out several of the popular digital modes. We're definitely  
going to have an MT-63 net on the 145.410 Repeater. I'd like to have a  
PSK-31 net (maybe on 10 meters) and an Olivia net. I'm looking for a  
couple volunteers to schedule a few practice sessions for these modes.  
If anyone would like to try any other digital modes, then please let  
me know - and consider taking the lead in scheduling a practice  
session or two.

On the day of the test, I will provide an activity that each of the  
net participants will need to perform, and provide the report of their  
results back to me in digital form. There will also be an activity  
that we will have to work out together. The results of that activity,  
and the report from each of the participants, for each of the nets  
conducted here in Carroll, will be collected and merged with the  
results from the other counties, and provided to the "customer".
