Curt, Sorry it took so long to get back to your reply. Busy, busy, busy... 

Sounds good, I think my Chloe (10) is going to be there with me on field day
at this point but mainly depends on her really. I've been trying to hype it
up a bit about field day that she'll (hopefully) get to make a contact or
two all on her own with some help from the club hams (and myself of course)
coaching her all the way. I think she's into it but, with kids, that can
change like the wind (especially due to her ADHD and Autism). 

I think it would be good for her too if she were to make a contact and that
might spark her interest in the hobby more than I've been able to as of yet.
Is there going to be any other children there at all??? I'm thinking it
would help if there were other kids there, that way she could see that it's
not just a bunch of old people (no offense, I'm old people to her too)
playing radio...

I lucked out and have the field day weekend off so I will be there as much
as possible and can be used wherever needed (unless it's cw...Don't know
dots and dashes yet) until Chloe wants to go home and then I'll just drop
her off and return to have more fun on the air...
