Interesting, this might make me get on the HF air more.
I was working on a friends (Ernie/KE3RB) HF rig he was selling to another friend down in FL, it would only intermittently TX. I found the problem, it was a relay & the one connection for the TX section was not making solid contact, in fact the relay fell apart when I started playing with it. SO I added another relay & luckily while it reduced the voltage on both relays both still worked fine.
Anyway, I was testing the TX section & listening on my HF rig when I heard a CW CQ, switched to CW, re-found the station & had a nice 20 min QSO, my first this year. I was looking forward to SKN but fell sick & just didn't want to be in the cold shack with a headache listening to CW, I did try late on Sunday but could not get anyone B4 SKN ended.
I'll have to fix something else & listen for some CQs!
