CCARC Board of Directors Meeting, 20-August-2008

In attendance were Andy WO3L, Gene KB3JHR, Tony KF3AK, Chuck N3TOT, John K3KWO,
Pat N8PK, Steve N3SB and Guest Dave KB3QMO.
 
1.	Tailgate Fest Results – The event keeps growing. We had a good turnout and
made some money for the club. The food vendor worked out fairly well, serving
good food. There are some things we can do to improve the operation of the
event. Some vendors were out at the site at 5:00 AM, but the majority of the
volunteers showed up later in the morning. There was no appointed event leader
to coordinate and direct – hopefully we’ll have an “incident commander” for the
hamfest. Alternate locations are being considered for next years’ event.

2.	Hamfest – Several options were discussed to encourage our vendors to return
next year, and establish a better way to contact them. The ticket barrel needs
a little maintenance to handle the sharp edges that have been developing on the
wire screening. John K3KWO has volunteered to have a look.

3.	Station Cleanup – Gene KB3JHR is planning to have a station cleanup session
sometime in October – possibly the weekend of October 11-12 depending on the
training schedule at the FTC. We could then have an auction at the club meeting
on October 13.

4.	Station Antenna Party – Monday September 1, Labor Day, and weather
permitting. Breakfast at 8:00, with the work starting around 9:30 at the FTC.
The dipole antennas should take only a couple hours to get reconnected.

5.	September Meeting topic – Curt WB8YYY will be discussing the Logbook of the
World.

6.	October Meeting topics – Hamfest planning discussions and auction.

7.	November Meeting topic – PicetSat II.

8.	December – Holiday Dinner, Sunday December 7, 5:00 PM at the VFW Fire Hall.
