All Skywarn Spotters: The NWS is offering a Winter Storm Course. I have
attended one of these and found the information most interesting. It
not only
discusses the formation of winter storms; but details the specifics the NWS
needs from spotters.

Course: Skywarn - Winter Storms
Date: Monday December 1, 2008
Time: 7 - 10 PM
Location: Loudoun County Fire/Rescue Training Center Auditorium
                         16600 Courage Court
                         Leesburg, VA 20175
Registration: Contact Rob Hiltner at 703-737-8706 or
(_Robert.Hiltner at loudoun.gov_ (mailto:Robert.Hiltner at loudoun.gov) )
Prerequisites: Skywarn Basics 1

Special Information: This is an optional 2 1/2 hour class that is offered
seasonally in the fall. Training in the
Winter Storm class is a good overview of
winter weather threats in this area. It is
intended for everyone. A Skywarn Basics 1
course must be completed prior to this
                                 course.
