For our meeting tonight the TEC Committee will begin a presentation on programming the Arduino. Have you gotten one of the Barebones Board kits in the past and haven't been able to use it? What I want to show tonight is how you can get the Arduino programming environment loaded on your computer, how you can write SIMPLE programs, how you can steal code shamelessly and upload them to the Barebones Board and get it to do stuff. You don't have a Barebones Board kit but would like to play in this world of microcontrollers? I have 5 extra kits that I'll bring along tonight. If we need more we'll work that out.
We will try to set up a workshop for a future Saturday (or maybe even for that Monday night in December when we don't meet). That workshop will involve hands on programming and help, if you want it, to get your Barebones Board kit built. At a future club meeting we want to show some of the ham things we have done with Arduino and the Barebones Boards.
Also tonight I want to bring up the possibility of starting a OFTR group within the TEC Committee - a different technology, a different time!
