John
perhaps you most important input would be the bands
you need antennas for. perhaps the bulk of digital
activity will be on 20 and 40m ? i am thinking a pair
of dipoles might be ideal, but i also have a
vertically oriented 'half square' for 20m available.
plan B might be a vertical that I think Larry has (??)
as this would be a single antenna. (if we can cross
polarize our antennas it might help).
i have always thought it strange we seperately logged
digital modes in CT .... should we consider letting
your digital software do the logging, and exporting a
file ? i dont think the logs go to ARRL anyway !
good news is this year you don't need 100 lbs of
batteries!
rig: we should see if the digital station can use one
of the rigs having a narrow CW filter (that is usable
on RTTY). i am thinking we should use the highest
performing rigs we got to allow for coexistance. let
us know if you have already picked out a rig from the
club's collection, or you have something else in mind.
i would like to do some RTTY sometime during FD (but i
will need some training on your software).
speaking of digital modes, lately i have been doing
PSK31 on 20 and 40m in the early evenings -- lots of
activity (except for last nite).
see you all tonite.
