Carroll County Amateur Radio Club
Meeting Minutes, 14 July 2008

President Andy Leeds, WO3L, called the meeting to order at 7:45 PM. Fourteen
members and two guests were present.

Welcome Aboard: Chuck Nemec KB3RAZ

Announcements:

The next CCARC meeting will be on Monday August 11th at the Emergency Services
Training Center in Westminster.

The next BoD meeting will be on Wednesday July 23rd, 7:30 PM at the FTC.

The County’s Emergency Training Exercise is coming up on Saturday August 2nd.

The Maryland-DC QSO Party is coming up on Saturday & Sunday August 9th and
10th.

>From the mailbag:

There was no club mail available. 

Secretary’s Report:

Steve N3SB published the secretary’s report from last month’s meeting to the
club’s email reflector. The report was accepted by the membership present.

Treasurer’s Report:

Tony KF3AK provided the treasurer’s report, detailing current balances, income,
and expenses. The report was accepted by the membership present. 

Board of Directors Report:

The BoD report was published to the reflector. There were no questions about the
minutes.

Committee Reports:

Repeater – The club’s packet BBS computer has been acting strangely for the past
several months. Last weekend the computer was replaced with a new system (the
hard drive was pulled and put into the new system.)

DCS – The next meeting on the Fourth Monday in July.

Station Committee – The dipoles installed for Field Day still need to be
connected to the hardline feeds into the club station.

Training & Education Committee – Committee still open

QSL Bureau – Mike N3VOP reported that the bureau is operating as normal.

Digital Committee – No news to report. 

TEC Committee – Will spool up after Field Day.

Hamfest – The Tailgate-Fest announcement appeared in this month’s QST Magazine.
Bill N3WM has been distributing fliers.

Evening Presentation:

Tony KF3AK briefly discussed the Army MARS exercise that occurred over the
weekend.

EasyPal – brief discussion about EasyPal followed. EasyPal can be downloaded at
http://www.kc1cs.com/digi.htm   

The club discussed the results of Field Day.

Closing notes:

President Leeds adjourned the meeting at approximately 8:30 PM.
