[K3PZN-List] CCARC August 2007 BoD Meeting Minutes

CCARC Board of Directors Meeting, 22-August-2007

In attendance were Rich N3III, Chuck N3TOT, Bill N3WM, Frank K3MTT, Gene KB3JHR,
and Steve N3SB.

1.	Workstation Donation – from Charlie Pittinger – The club received a nice
computer as a donation from Charlie.

2.	Tailgate-Fest after-action review – the committee struggled with finding the
right locations for signs. Rich will document the locations where he placed the
signs, so that we can re-use his information to locate the signs for future
hamfests. Our maps need to be updated to show the new entrance to the Ag Center
grounds. We will start looking at options for prizes for the Hamfest.

3.	SkyWarn MOU – The board reviewed the MOU from Doug Wittich, the NE Area
Coordinator. The MOU seems to be much longer than it needs to be. A simpler
document will be drafted for review by the BoD, and then sent to Doug.

4.	South Carroll Repeater Site – The BoD discussed the possibility of replacing
the coax running to the antenna with high quality hardline. The coax that’s
currently installed is of a basic RG-8 type.

5.	PICetSAT News – Rich N3II has been crafting items to support prototyping with
the PICAXE boards. He plans on spending a few minutes discussing his latest at
the next club meeting. Rich has formed a committee to support experimentation
with PICs and other microcontrollers, in conjunction with balloon flights.
