Carroll County Amateur Radio Club
Meeting Minutes, 13 August 2007

President Rich Mitchell, N3III, called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM.
Seventeen members and three guests were present. 

Announcements:

The next CCARC meeting will be on Monday September 10th at the FTC.

The next BoD meeting will be on Wednesday August 22nd, 7:30 PM at the FTC.

The CCARC Tailgate Fest is coming up on Sunday August 19th.

>From the mailbag:

The club’s mail was briefly reviewed and dispositioned.

Secretary’s Report:

Steve N3SB published the secretary’s report to the club’s email reflector. The
report was accepted by the membership present. 

Treasurer’s Report:

Tony KF3AK provided the treasurer’s report, detailing current balances, income,
and expenses. The report was accepted by the membership present. 

Board of Directors Report:

Gene KB3JHR provided a brief report about the Board meeting. The primary topic
at the meeting was budget preparation.

Committee Reports:

DCS: Chuck N3TOT reported -- The next meeting (August 20th) will be devoted to
assembling one of the four field kits that the county has procured. Doug
Wittich N3VEJ briefed the club on the purpose of SKYWARN. Doug brought an MOU
for the club to review.

Hamfest: Bill W3STG reported -- Contracts have been received & reviewed for the
food vendors. The Tailgate fest is this Sunday. Big News is that the entrance
to the site has changed. Photos of the changes were on display so that the
changes, and the effects on the way we manage traffic at our events, can be
reviewed.

Station Committee: Gene KB3JHR reported that an additional computer has been
donated. There is an excess of old computers and monitors that may be taken to
the hamfest or offered up to anyone who wants them.

Presentation: 

Pat N8PK and Rich N3III briefed the club on the maiden flight of the PICetSAT
near-space experiment, which flew on July 25th.

Door Prize:

Tony KF3AK won a softrock lite receiver. Gene KB3JHR won a Field Day T-Shirt.
Rich N3III won a vintage ARRL Antenna Handbook.

President Mitchell adjourned the meeting at 9.14 PM.
