Carroll County Amateur Radio Club
Meeting Minutes, 8 October 2007
President Rich Mitchell, N3III, called the meeting to order at 7:35 PM. Fourteen
members and no guests were present.
Announcements:
The next CCARC meeting will be on Monday November 12th at the FTC.
The next BoD meeting will be on Wednesday October 17th, 7:30 PM at the FTC.
The Mason-Dixon Hamfest is on Sunday October 28th.
>From the mailbag:
The clubs mail was briefly reviewed and dispositioned.
Secretarys Report:
Steve N3SB published the secretarys report to the clubs email reflector. The
report was accepted by the membership present.
Treasurers Report:
Tony KF3AK provided the treasurers report, detailing current balances, income,
and expenses. The report was accepted by the membership present.
Board of Directors Report:
The report was published to the reflector. No club members desired to have the
report read.
Committee Reports:
Repeater: The club will be picking up another 450 repeater within the next
couple weeks. Plans for its usage are being discussed.
DCS: Chuck N3TOT reported -- The next meeting (October 22nd) will be devoted to
finishing the assembly of the four shelter kits that the county has procured.
All the shelter kit equipment received from the County has been tagged
Hamfest: Plans for the October hamfest were discussed. A sign-up sheet was
passed around. Traffic management is going to be interesting because there will
be a gun show on the same day as our hamfest. Rob K1RH made some very nice signs
for the event.
Holiday Party: Bill N3WM reported that the Holiday part will be held at the VFW
this year, on Sunday December 2nd. The menu and member costs will be worked out
soon. Door prizes will be obtained.
Technology Experimenters Committee: Rich N3III reported that the TEC committee
met to discuss prototyping. Pete W3GVX developed a program on his PICAXE that
converts RS-232 to CW, which he can use to key his radio. Rich displayed his
PIC 18X XTreme prototyping board. Rich is starting work on i2c memory storage
capability.

Presentation:
Rich N3III and Steve N3SB gave a presentation on Software Defined Radio.
Other:
Tony KF3AK displayed a surface-mount PC Board soldering fixture.

President Mitchell adjourned the meeting at 9.41 PM.
