Yes, that is the kind I was talking about, not trying to isolate 2
stations on the same band from each other. I should have clarified.
Filters for 2 signals on 1 HF band would need much higher Q and would be
physically prohibitive for HF frequencies and high power levels. I've
seen resonant lengths of coax used as notches, but again in this case
the Q would be far too low to get decent isolation out of it. I'm sure
with some surplus water pipe (more like water main, something about 24"
- 36" diameter) we could create something but the cost and physical
aspects make it an impractical idea (but probably a good idea for an
April QST article).
