Carroll County Amateur Radio Club
Meeting Minutes, 12 March 2007

President John Hart, K3KWO, called the meeting to order at 7:37 PM. Nineteen
members and no guests were present. This constituted a full quorum.

Announcements:

The next Board of Directors meeting will be held on Wednesday 21 March, 7:30 PM
at the Fire Training Center. All members are welcome to attend.

The next club meeting is on Monday April 9 2007, 7:30 PM at the FTC.

Nominations are still open for club officers and board members. Elections are
being held at tonight’s meeting.

The Monthly RACES Drill will be on 13-March. Carroll County will be Net Control
for the Western Region Net. The CARET Net will not be held on 13-March.

Pat N8PK mentioned that the next AMSAT meeting will be held on Saturday March 24
at the Historical Electronics Museum.

The next DCS Committee meeting will be on Monday March 26. Our topic for the
month will be debugging individual packet stations.

A VE Session will be held on Tuesday March 27, 7:30 PM at the FTC. 

Pat also mentioned that the next radio equipped balloon is scheduled to be
launched from Hagerstown on March 31.

The MS Walk will be held on Sunday April 15 at the Farm Museum in Westminster.
CARET has been solicited for help.

The County is planning a large RACES drill on Thursday April 26.

Jack Kolb briefed the club about plans being made at Carroll Lutheran Village to
provide Amateur Radio emergency communications for the residents there. 

Phil KE3FL briefed the club on the status of HB20941.

No club mail was available for review.

Secretary’s Report:

Steve N3SB published the secretary’s report to the club’s email reflector. The
report was accepted by the membership present. Apologies to Gene KB3JHR for
getting his callsign wrong in last month’s minutes.

Treasurer’s Report:

Our treasurer Bill W3STG left the meeting early. No report was available. 

Board of Directors Report:

John K3KWO briefed the club on the highlights from the February Board of
Directors Meetings.

Committee Reports:

There were no committee reports this evening.

Closing notes:

The Brown Bag Door Prize was won by Jim K4CGY. Jim won a 2007 ARRL Handbook.

President Hart presented the gavel and the keys to President-elect Rich N3III.
John adjourned the meeting at 8:48 PM.
