Yup, I had that problem recently & I've been using them for more than a
year so it took me a little time to figure it out, it was during the
recent bike-a-thon & the connector in question was installed just a day
before on a new-used 2-m mobile unit I was using.

Almost all my equipment is not Anderson PP, the things still not are
things like a 12V dustbuster, a 12V fan, my MFJ TNC, etc. On the other
hand, I do have a box that can run all three (& 2 more) devices with
the old connector which plugs into my Anderson PP batteries.
