You've done a pretty good ball park assessment of the power required for a K2. 
My FT-817 will go through Field Day with a single 17-Ah battery that is on
floating charge from a solar array during daylight hours.  That's how the VHF
rig will be powered this year.

I'm looking at a 100-Ah battery to keep my Argonaut V alive for 24 h.  I'll have
a second 17-Ah battery that has been solar charged to use with the Argonaut for
the Alternative Power QSOs.
