Field Day is a lot of fun anyway you do it. What we have done down here 
in FL for several reasons (including but not limited to: thunderstorms, 
mosquitoes, alligators, oppressive heat, and fuel cost) is to go to the 
class E operation. With this we can set up some additional antennas in 
advance and take them down a week or two later, and we have a nice solid 
building to work out of. It allows the focus on that weekend to be 
operating a radio rather then all the setup and tear down activity. Its 
just another option you might want to consider.
