Greetings Everyone,

This evening I stumbled on a great close-out deal on FRS/GMRS radios for
those of you who might be interested.

The Wal-Mart store in Hampstead has the Audiovox GMRS 7001-2 radios (with a
range of up to seven miles) and built in NOAA WX receiver with WX Alert for
only $15 per pair! That's right $15 per pair! In GMRS mode, these radios
even use the same 38 CTCSS or P.L. tones that we hams regularly use. (I do
not know if the same deal is available at other locations.)

Personally, I picked up two sets of them (4 radios) myself. If each of us
bought a pair or two, we would have yet another communications option
available to us.

The only caveat is that a FCC GMRS Radio License IS required for GMRS use on
the upper 8 frequencies. However, it is NOT required for use on the lower
14 FRS frequencies.

Maybe we should pick up two for or three pairs the MCC ...... or even as
givaways for the tailgate fest, Ham Fest, or at the Holiday party. Or how
about a 'special raffle' fundraiser for the MCC....The possibilities are
endless!

Your thoughts, comments, feedback, complaints, etc. are most welcome.

Kindest regards,

Keith Krichinsky - W3MDC

REMEMBER: THE ARC WAS BUILT BY AMATEURS. THE TITANIC WAS BUILT BY
PROFESSIONALS!
