I see lots of enthusiasm for equiping the truck - but
honestly it may be better not to aggressively equip
it.

(1) almost anything needed can be borrowed from the
club's station.  most gear can be installed in a
couple minutes.  attach power supply, attach antenna,
attach mike ... you are ready!

(2) there is a theft risk of putting too much stuff in
the truck.  maybe its more secure than most vehicles -
but still it may not be worth the risk

(3) modern gear the operators are used to would be
better in a real operating situation than older
equipment, that may also be less reliable.  

if anything, maybe it just needs an FM radio and some
power supplies, and places to put radios in.  my two
cents.

FYI - Doug - i believe there is a free hamfest on
wednesday at the state fairgrounds.  also the
mobileers in Anne Arundel Co have an event at the end
of the month, i think.  also if you wish i can post
the HW-9 on the QRP-L for you.  that should go fast
even with missing parts.
