Hi Guys
Doug, this is not a request to donate, but the Kenwood 732A and the Alnico
Handi (I'm not familiar with this one or its age) and or equipment like that
may make a good start. Even the 4000A could be a good addition. Maybe we
can find a way to work with you if the committee feels some of you items
would be of interest.

Here is what I would like to see:
- dedicated 2mtr rig Using a 2meter/440 with dual band antenna
- a dedicated 450 rig using a 2 meter/440 dual band antenna (these two
positions then have duplicate and therefore redundant capability;

-a dedicated simplex

-several handi for 2 and 440 that could be left in trickle charge mode with
spare batteries.

AND a mini repeater that could be put on ANY 2 mtrs or 440 frequency using a
pair of 144/440 radios. I designed and built the controllers/IDers for tree
or our repeaters and a remote and would be glad to do it again especially
since we would need too any bells and whistles.

I don't believe we need brand new equipment for everything, but what we buy
should be in excellent shape and have funcionality suited to our purpose.

Because this is a van of limited size it will only be able to support a few
operating positions. I believe that it will be necessary to have a good HF
station, but the extent of HF capability will have to be determined by the
level of support and planning documents now being developed in addition to
available space. We have to remember this is primarily a EMERGENCY
COMMUNICATIONs VAN that incidently can be used for other things.

Al K3ZE has agreed to become the Membership Chair. I am going to continue to
do what I have been doing and he will pursue those things I haven't done
with much vigor. This frees my mind to become more involved in this project
and I will know Al can temporarily do my stuff if necessary.

Keith, you and I and N3WM, the beginning committee should get together. I
have put the work on the fund raiser letters aside for a short time as I am
a little burned out, but will finish the draft soon. Hope to get to ARRL
this week. I will talk to Bill to see if we can start to setup the Homeland
Security starting with the county. He should be home and refreshed this
week.

Keith, I'm really starting to feel like a co-chair with all the things we
have in the air.

Good day to you Doug,

I know you have given untold donations to the club and to forward the hobby
of amateur radio, so I hate to even ask this. But, I don't want to miss any
opportunity that presents itself, so here it goes:

Would you be interested in donating any of the items you have up for sale to
the Radio truck? Honestly, I don't even know what thre truck would/could
use as far as radio equipment is concerned as we still need to make that
determination. But, please do keep us in mind

Thanks, Doug.
73's;
Keith Krichinsky, KB3HHK
