HERE ARE THE MINUTES OF THE CLUB FOR APRIL, CHANGES, ADDITIONS OR
DELETIONS TO ME ASAP, THANKS AND 73

CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB Minutes
The CCARC met on April 12th at the FTC; there were 27 members and 1
guest present.
President Beckman called the meeting to order at 1935; members and
guests introduced themselves; President made the following remarks, next
club meeting will be May 10th at the FTC at 7:30PM; next Board meeting
will be April 21st at the FTC at 7:30PM, the budget for the next fiscal
year will be initiated; at the June meeting Field Day plans will be
discussed; at the July meeting we will have a presentation on grounding;
on May 8 and 9 the club will host the Mid Atlantic QSO party, a pot luck
dinner will be available so be sure to bring something; he showed a copy
of a reprinted book he purchased and several free books he received from
the publisher, he will give you the address if you ask; Jack Kolb showed
a 50�s picture of him in his shack at college; From the mail bag, a
letter from the county attorney for back taxes that are due, he gave
that to the treasurer to take care of; the BRATS newsletter was
received; a letter from the US Coast Guard regarding homeland security;
a letter from the Bureau of Aging; and a letter from the Carroll County
library.
Shirley Neeriemer KB3KYJ made her first contact since receiving her
license, she made the contact with husband Bill N3NNF who gave her a 59 MD.
Secretary report � Joe N3YIM gave the report that no old business was on
the minutes, a copy of the minutes are displayed in the radio room, Doug
N5LBJ motioned the be accepted, seconded by Bill N3NNF, voted and passed.
Treasurer�s report � Bill N3WM gave a consolidated report from February
and March, a copy is attached to the minutes in the radio room, Mike
N3VOP motioned that the report be accepted, seconded by Chuck N3TOT,
voted and passed. Bill also reported that Tom N3PSB had donated a
convertorcom the club for installation in the communications van.
Board report � John AK3Z gave the board report, a copy of the board
minutes are posted in the radio room.
President Beckman made a motion from the Board �Motion is to donate $100
to the ARRL for use in the BPL area�, motion was voted and passed.
President Beckman passed out CCARC shirts for the Board members; to
those who are going to distribute flyers at hamfests and field day
shirts to the field day committee members.
Committees;
Publications � Joe N3YIM, the Jan-Mar 04 newsletter is being printed, if
you have an e-mail address on file with the membership chairman you will
receive your copy via e-mail; you can get it from the club website or a
hard copy can be obtained from the secretary.
Generator starter modification � Joe N3YIM reported that the teacher at
the VoTech is out of town because of death in the family and that he
doubts that the modification will be made prior to field day as expected.
Tailgate Fest � Joe N3YIM reports that the FRS radios as the door prize
have been purchased and are on hand.
Youth � Doug N5LBJ reported that the next meeting is April 17th at the
FTC from 1-4 PM please let him know who plans to attend, at last months
meeting they started the building of a radio kit. Doug also told the
club of an antique radio show and swap meet at Kutztown Pa on May 8-9th.
285 repeater � is stored in the radio room and is working, Al K3ZE
reports that this Wednesday another 285 transmitter will be picked up
and brought to the station.
Digital � John K3KWO reports that the net is on Thursday evening and
more participation would be appreciated, if you need any help in getting
on digital let the committee know they can help.
Emergency Services � Larry WX3F reports that the April and May exercises
are cancelled at the state level; local counties may still have a one
hour drill if they want to. The MSD walk will take place on April 25;
meet at the Farm Museum at 8AM.
Repeaters � Larry WX3F reports the 2 meter repeater adjustments have
been completed, further adjustment is still required however, there is a
possibility duplexers may be needed; the 440 machine is in great shape;
6 meters is ok but needs adjustments; packet is working but will hang up
on occasion and has to be rebooted.
The remote site receiver has been repaired and should be installed this
week, depending when he can get into the communications building at
Springfield.
Station � John AK3Z needs to have a committee meeting; finish the beam
traps and installed the beam on the tower; the mast is bent and needs to
be looked at to see what needs to be done to correct the bend; and they
will order some small items for the station to improve operating positions.
The 50-50 drawing was won by Bob W3RAR, 20$
Phil KE3FL has ARES/RACES database updates if you require one.
AL K3ZE explained the new licensing and BPL issues.
There being nothing further, the meeting adjourned at 2050.
