Club Members:
Last weekend, Steve (N3SB), Jerry (N3GQK) and myself completed the first
phase of our tower upgrade project. The old yagi has been removed along
with the rotor. Existing plates in the top of the tower have been ground
and drilled. 2 new thrust bearings have been installed. We also installed
a custom rotor base plate about 155 inches below the top. The old rotor
has been sent in for servicing. We assembled the new quad antenna for
UHF/VHF.
This weekend (Sat and Sun) we need to do the following:
1. Raise our new telescoping masts to the tower top.
2. Install new (refurbed) rotor.
3. Install new triband vertical and quad on the mast.
4. Assemble new/used HF Yagi.
5. Install yagi on the new mast.
We will probably be working for a good part of the weekend on this and can
use all the help we can get. It was a lot of work for the 3 of us last
weekend but we really need it this weekend and could also use another
climber if one is available. We will be starting at 9:00 AM Sat , weather
permitting and probably same time Sunday as well. Please help if you can.
Thanks.
John, AK3Z
