HELLO FIELD DAY CLUB MEMBERS;
HERE ARE THE MINUTES OF THE JUNE 18TH BOARD MINUTES, CORRECTIONS TO ME
ASAP PLEASE, 73'S
JOE
CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB BOARD OF DIRECTORS MINUTES
The Board of Directors of the Carroll County Amateur Radio Club met on
June 18th 2003 at the Fire Training Center. President Beckman called the
meeting to order at 1940.
Members present were, Keith KB3HHK, Doug N5LBJ, John AK3Z, Bill N3WM,
Joe N3YIM, Steve N3SB and guest Mike N3VOP.
Insurance for the Station equipment, the repeaters and remote site were
discussed, the actual cost to replace the equipment, not the current
value, should be the price quoted to the ARRL, your premium is based on
the dollar figure you submit, and we need to include antennas as well.
There needs to be a list by serial number of the equipment we want to
insure, Bill N3WM has a copy supplied by the Station Committee last
fall. It is hoped that we can acquire the necessary insurance by Field Day.
Tailgate Fest 4 Steve N3SB has been contacted by a representative of
FAR who would like to have space and a table for equipment sales from SK
estates; Mike N3VOP who is chairman this year, asked what needed to be
completed yet, the only outstanding item is the purchase of a pair of
Family Radio Service radios as a prize; there will be food this year
provided by Wilhelms and that contract has been signed some time ago;
Joe N3YIM volunteered to be the go between for Mike for whatever he needs.
There was considerable discussion on the completion of the Sykesville
remote site.
Bill N3WM suggested that the club appoint a committee to coordinate with
the County for homeland security, there seems to be a need for emergency
communications in the event of an emergency, and we surely can handle
that, but we must be accepted by the County and included in their planning.
Mike N3VOP suggested that the station committee look into the purchase
laptop computers instead of the larger ones that we now have, they are
bulky and require a monitor, and it seems that the laptops would be far
better especially in the field.
The Board was given a tour of the barns improvements; all agreed that
it is really great.
Their being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2105.
SUBMITTED;
Joe Ebaugh, N3YIM
Secretary
