HER ARE THE MINUTES FROM LAST EVENINGS MEETING, CHANGES OR CORRECTIONS

CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB MINUTES
The Carroll County Amateur Radio Club met on July 14th at the Fire
Training Center
President Beckman called the meeting to order at 1932 local time, there
were 27 members and 4 guests present.
Members and guests introduced themselves; President Beckman made a few
announcements, the next board meeting will be at 1930 local time
Wednesday the 23d; the noise on the 2 meter repeater is coming from
north of us, he urged all members to set their PL tone to insure
continued service from the repeater; the BRATS hamfest is Jul 27th, we
need to put out flyers, so if you can help pick up your flyers in the
radio room; he took a list of those who want field day shirts and pins;
the MarylandDC QSO party will be on the Tailgate Fest weekend, it is
possible that we may participate from the AG center rather than the club
station; he asked who has worked 60 meters, there were several members
who have, it is important that you make sure you have met all FCC
requirements before using 60; the FCC has issued an emergency for the
Texas storm; John AK3Z and John K3KWO both offered towers to the club,
AK3Z offered the tower to members as well, they are available for the
taking.
Secretary Report � Joe N3YIM reviewed the minutes of the June meeting,
with only the budget as old business, Keith KB3HHK motioned to accept,
John W3JJH seconded, voted and passed.
Treasurers Report � Bill N3WM gave the club financial report (copy
attached to file copy), Keith KB3HHK motioned to accept, John W3JJH
seconded, voted and passed.
Board report � John AK3Z reviewed the June board meeting, a copy is
posted in the radio room.
The 50/50 drawing for the evening was won by Mike N3VOP for 37$.
Committee Reports;
Repeater � no report.
ARES/RACES � no report.
Publication � Joe N3YIM reported that the Apr-Jun edition was going to
press and should be out late next week.
Station � John AK3Z reported the following items have been ordered for
the station;
1. l- Heil Cable for ICOM 8 pin
2. 1- Heil Deluxe Proset HC4 and HC5 cartridge
3. 1- Bencher Black Bencher Paddle
4. 1- Heil Cable for Kenwood 4 pin
5. 1- Heil Proset for ICOM only
6. 1- Heil Cord for Kenwood Proset series
7. Set of Dunestar filters
The tower plate project is still on hold and needs to be re-measured and
completed now that the weather is good.
Tng and Education � Keith KB3HHK reported he has been in contact with
the National Weather Service trying to have them conduct Skywarn Basic I
and II, the Hurricane and Winter storm classes, sometime in the October
� November timeframe. Clint W3ARS called for a meeting of the committee
after the regular meeting.
Membership � those who need photos for their ID see Steve after the meeting.
Digital � Doug N5LBJ announced that a digital net will be conducted on
Thursdays at 8:30PM, on 28.120 MHz; the net will rotate through the
different digital modes to give experience in each mode.
Tailgate Fest 4 � Mike N3VOP passed out signup sheets for Saturday setup
and Sunday work, setup is Saturday at 4PM and Sunday reporting time is 5
to 5:30AM, Clint W3ARS will setup a special event station and probably
work the MdDC QSO party from the Fest, Keith KB3HHK will supply the
sound system for the event and the Hamfest, the main thing to be
complete yet is the purchase of the door prize.
Field Day � John W3JJH still needs some station logs, he estimates the
club score around 8000 points, not as good as last year but good
considering the conditions this year. He also thanked the station
captains for the effort and all those who participated.
Old Business � the 2003-2004 budget was tabled for vote due to a lack of
a quorum.
New Business � A request to use the CCARC repeater on July 24th and 25th
for the Cycle Across Maryland bike event was approved.
Pat N8PK gave a presentation on S band antennas and how to make them.
Jim WX3B gave a very nice slide show with pictures of the CCARC field
day effort, thanks Jim
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2132.
