Hi Keith,
   Where do you want to use the rig, home or mobile.
If used mostly at home look into a Kenwood TS-820S as
you can find them for less $275.00. I even have one
that will be for sale in a few weeks at $250.00. If
you want it mainly for mobile look for a Kenwood TS-50
at $400.00 or less or for an Alinco DX-70TH at about
the same price. If you look you can fine an HF only
rig as low a $175.00.
