Thanks Al. I did check e-bay.  they ended up being more expensive than i 
thought. After i posted that message, I found out that my wife'scar needs 
$1200 worth of work.  So it'll have to wait till next year i guess.

Keith,

eBay (usually) has a plethora of IC-706's, FT-100's, et al.  Have you check
them?

If you are looking for a MF-HF rig only, look at the Kenwood TS-130, the
"400" line, etc.
