- Thursday Jan 8, 04: the Amateur Radio Research and Development
  Corporation (AMRAD) and the Historical Electronics Museum
  Amateur Radio Club (HEMARC) will have a joint meeting and
  discussion at the Historical Electronics Museum. Time: 7:00 pm
  Place: Pioneer Hall in the Museum. Topic: AMRAD has made
  measurements and assessed the potential impact of BPL on HF
  noise levels.
  
- The FCC on December 14 will unveil a new on-line filing interface
  for its Universal Licensing System (ULS), on the web at,
  http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls, which includes the Amateur Service.
  ...the ULS's new look will include easier-to-read on-screen forms
  that guide users through filing and simplify such routine tasks as
  applying for license renewal...

  My Dad suffered a stroke on Nov 23rd and I flew to FL to be with 
  him. On Dec 1st I started a new job as an IT consultant with
  Business First Networks based in Westminster.
  
- The Frederick County RACES reflector has changed its name & has a

- Shenandoah Valley Amateur Radio Club, on-the-air CW training class 
  on their 146.82(-) repeater at 20:00 local every Tuesday night .

 MARC: The Marathon in the Parks is a 26 mile run beginning at the
 Shady Grove Metro Station in Rockville.  It proceeds to Lake
 Needwood, then down the Rock Creek Trail and across the Georgetown
 Trail, ending on Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda. I usually e-mail
 appropriate maps and directions to the radio operators about one week
 before the event.  Talk-in is usually on the net operating frequency,
 which ordinarily would not be disclosed in general solicitations of
 volunteers, but is most often the MARC 2-meter repreater (146.955
 MHz). Still need about 10 people .

at Myersville, Maryland, Volunteer Fire Company at 8:00AM. Since
MADXRA is a -regional- club, we meet for breakfast at other
