The last time I was checked ... and that was some time ago, I believe we
were ok up to 100 feet.
The county almost rethought it after a "couple of amateurs" got involved in
a rewrite. As far as I know, amateur towers are excluded. I would make a
note that you called a checked and go ahead descretely with your business.
Anytime a tower goes up and a fuss is made can have adverse reactions. My
tower is a crankup and nobody had seen it go up in about 5 years. When I put
an antenna on it, I will sloooowly
crank it over time.
Good luck.

Subject: [K3PZN-List] Permit Requirements for Towers
I aquired a 50 foot Rohn 25 tower last week. I wanted to put it up next to
the house. It will be secured to the house up to 30 feet. The Carroll
County permit office said that I did not need a permit or inspections, but
they did not sound to confident. I was wondering if anyone could confirm or
deny this. I don't trust my neighbors and want to make sure I have all of
my Is dotted and Ts crossed before anyone complains.
Thanks
Rob, K1RH
