[K3PZN-List] Safety Vests for Amateur Radio Communications

All,

I think having the lettering on the vests is worth the extra money and an
important advantage. True, they cost more, but I think it is a worthwhile
investment and definitely goes a long way to establishing a reputation among
the public as capable and intelligent radio operators essential to their
safety. They really do need to know who we are. A recent survey indicated
that the general public saw no difference between Ham operators and CBers
that drive 18 wheelers. Even some of my co-workers have thought of me this
way when they became aware that I was a ham. Something is truly wrong when
we are so misunderstood for all that we have done and continue to do both
for the public and for public safety organizations.

And we are also supporting the League, which is a lot better than supporting
"Home Depot". So I think there has to be some "charitable contribution"
factor here. We are only investing in our own futures.

Just my opinion.

John, AK3Z
