[K3PZN-List] WHASAMATTAH WITH 70cm?

Whenever I'm in the shack or at the computer (both are located in the
basement) I always turn on my Icom IC-706 to monitor the Club's 2m and 70cm.
On any given day at any given hour, there is usually traffic on the 2m.
That's good because we are using the frequency. On the other hand, I seldom
hear anyone on the 70cm machine. That's un-good. Use it or lose it as the
saying goes - look what happen to 220-222 MHz.
With today's HT's, desk top, and mobile rigs, dual-band VHF/UHF has become
almost ubiquitous. I think that it is a darned shame that we have a 70cm
machine that's collecting dust instead of being used. Perhaps it would be a
good idea for the club to discuss this issue and come up with a plan to get
all of us to use 70cm more often.
Caveat:
Of course, this is only my opinion based solely on a casual observation. If
anyone disagrees with any statement that I make, I am prepared not only to
retract it, but to deny, under oath, that I ever made it.
73 & 88 to all,
Al, K3ZE
