[K3PZN-List] No More autopatch, Huh? Did I miss something?

This just goes to show you how little I pay attention:
"The autopatch is to be terminated as soon after July
1st as the lines can be changed over to avoid a lapse
in 911 services, this change was approved by the
membership when the 2002-2003 budget was approved."

I would never have voted for that had I understood
that the auto patch was being dropped. I don't
remember any talk about it, did I miss that meeting?

I maintain membership in MARC, CCARC, and MADXRA just
to have auto-patch privileges from Montgomery,
Carroll, and Frederick counties where I do most of my
driving. I use it perhaps once or twice a month and to
me that is well worth the membership fee, after all I
don't have to own and pay for a cell phone then!

Frankly I'll really have to think about renewing
membership at $16/year with no auto patch available.
