CARROLL COUNTY AMATEUR RADIO CLUB BOARD MINUTES
After being delayed a week due to bad weather, the CCARC board met on
January 26th 2005 at the Fire Training Center, members present were John
AK3Z; Jerry N3GQK; Doug N5LBJ; Steve N3SB; Joe N3YIM; Chuck N3TOT and
Frank K3MTT, meeting was called to order at 1935 local.
President Beckman N3SB made the following announcements, he had a
question "was the Windows operating system on the club computers a gift
or de we need a license", Doug N5LBJ will procure a 'not for profit'
software from Microsoft; our proposal for funding submitted to MEMA has
been returned to the County for their review, Chuck N3TOT will contact
the County and Rep Bartlett's office to see if we need to do anything
else to move the project along; also Steve N3SB will contact the
Bartlett office for assistance on the proposal; the County money that
would have been for the club has been spent for this Fiscal Year; Steve
will brief the club at the February meeting on the possibility that no
election will be held, and what will happen to the club if there are no
officers elected, his hope is that the board will take care of the
required issues.
Chuck N3TOT gave his report on his meeting with County officials, the
County is very interested in the shelter kits as we proposed in our
request for funding, and the communications between the EOC, the
Shelters and the Fire Training Center; there is no interest in the van
project at this time.
Doug N5LBJ - the loaner radio given to Matt KB3LOX for his use is due
to be returned.
John AK3Z - The antique radio night will be moved to another month and
Frank will assist with the project; replacement of the club station
radios was discussed and tabled until a later time; some of the antennas
still need to be repaired.
Chuck N3TOT - met with Mike Valentine, County Communications Technical
Assistant, who states that the additional tower on site is available if
the club wants to use it, however, we can not move or disturb the
microwave dish. The board would like permission to use the other tower
in writing from the County.
Joe N3YIM - we need to get our Tailgate Fest and Hamfest flyer ready
for the printer, Steve will work on that and get a copy for the printers.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2150 local.
Submitted;
