Greetings Folks;
Frank -- What you say is true. 2005 hamfest seed money is part of the
budget approved last June. However I want to get MUCH more involvement from
non-board members. I don't want next year's BoD to be left with the
responsibility again. All the planning needed, along with the required task
deadlines, has been documented, so that a successful hamfest can be
executed by a couple of Non-BoD individuals. The Board has other things it
needs to do.
Keith -- yep, I agree with your thoughts. I have also contacted Phil KE3FL
about the VE testing room options, to give him the choice. But I indicated
that the Block Room would be a better option as far as the rest of the
hamfest operations are concerned. I will be wearing my "Spooky Green"
Mason-Dixon Hamfest 2004 shirt.
I spoke with Rob K3RAR yesterday evening. He, along with several others
including N3VOP, W3ARS etc, are planning to assemble an HF station at the
hamfest, which has been done in past years. They are also planning on
staying overnight Saturday evening on the grounds, to operate the CQ
Worldwide SSB Contest. They plan on using the club's AB-577 and a few items
from the club station. If all the TA-33 / TA-34 parts are in by next
weekend, they have offered to assemble it and use it in the contest as a
way to check it out before it gets installed on the tower at the FTC. The
newly-tagged MCC will also be available to support them, and to serve as
main entrance lighting on Sunday morning.

I believe the Club decided a long time ago that the hamfest was a done deal
until the Club decided NOT to do one. Therefore no decision is required
unless it is to cancel.

Greetings Joe;
Sounds like the 16th Annual Mason-Dixon Hamfest will be on Sunday October
30, 2005, if the club chooses to hold another.
I'll check with the VE team to see if they'd prefer the block house or
setting up at the FTC.
Thanks for checking on this Joe!!

HI ALL;
I CONTACTED BARRY LIPPY TODAY TO ASK THE CHANGES WE WANTED TO MAKE;
1) IS THERE A PLACE TO DO THE TESTING BECAUSE THE ROOM WE NORMALLY
USE IS NOT AVAILABLE; WE CAN USE THE BLOCK BUILDING BESIDE THE
RESTROOMS, HE WILL LET US USE IT FOR 50$.
2) IS OCTOBER 23D OPEN; YES IT IS AND HE WILL HOLD IT, BUTTTTTTTT, WE
CANNOT GET INTO BURNS HALL TO SET UP ON THE 22D UNTIL AFTER 10PM.
THINK IT OVER, I NEED TO LET HIM KNOW,
73, JOE
