I visited with George Thomas today (Friday) to receive clarification on
what the particulars were about the communication funding.  He advised
that the funding could be used for Communication systems (radios and
associated equipment), only.  Having mentioning the need of radios at the
EOC for RACES and for the van, I suggested that we may want to order
Motorola MCS 2000 series radios.  One VHF and One UHF with power supply
station for the EOC and one VHF and one UHF for the van.  The County is
familiar with these radios, since they are in about every County vehicle,
and may be discounted through the County purchasing system.
