Keith,
Congratulations on the progress with CERT.

Well over a year ago I asked all ECs and ROs to contact their
local EM Director re. CERT training.for their ARES/RACES teams. It never
hurts to have additional capabilities or at least be aware of the subject
matter which is covered by the CERT training course.

Many of our ARES/RACES folks here in HOWA have passed the course,
including a follow on course in CPR and AED. Since HOWA CERT is taught be
HOWA FRS, under which EM lies, we have agreement with our director under
which we serve as CERT folks only if our communications capabilities are
not needed elsewhere during an emergency.

I suggest your EC/RO seek a similar understanding with your EM
Director also.

         Hope that answers your questions.
