For those interested. No need to stay with Windows if you don't want to, or if your computer is long in the tooth and chokes on windows in its latest form.

If you have an older computer, Linux Operating system can make it sing again. I am happy to help anyone who gets stuck while following the instructions below.

Two videos, the first is installing LINUX Mint Operating system, the second is using automated scripts to install all the applicable Ham Radio capabilities.

These videos are pretty well done, and fairly easy to follow. Anyone who is trying to wrap their brain around what LINUX is, hit me up I can try to help it make sense. Of the compendium of different "flavors" of LINUX (there is a bunch, that are all geek tweaks to excel in different use-cases), LINUX Mint is the one most like what we all know to be normal like WIndows or Mac. User friendly.

Now that Microsoft has done its part trying to make money for hardware manufacturers via TPM and Windows 10 EOL here comes the next time to buy another computer moment, the next big Windows 11 update Bromine. Current updates already throw AI at you whether you want it or not. Seeing the end of support and the relentless go buy new hardware campaign from Windows 10 you know it will happen with this update too.
