[K3CAL] Many thanks to fellow CARA members for National Night Out

A tip of the hat, to our fellow CARA members for promoting amateur radio by representing the Calvert Amateur Radio Association.

On Tuesday August 5th, Dave W3PQS, Nigel G0JKN, Erik KC3QQD, and Andy KC3WRX set up at the Broome's Island Community Center for the National Night Out gathering. Erik ran a "special edition" of his Talk Around Tuesday net utilizing the Auxcomm crossband repeat radio located at the county's Barstow tower site, Andy had an HF station running and was able to make a couple DX contacts, and Dave and Nigel explained the many aspects of amateur radio to those that stopped by. A great time was had by all and we look forward to taking part again next year.
